How to open and convert Tidal, Deezer and Amazon Music links

Short answer

Tidal, Deezer and Amazon Music links only open in their own apps or a web player. To land in your own service instead: Android – set SongFlip once as the app for these domains, then every link opens in your player with 0 taps. iPhone – share the link to SongFlip (1 tap). One link, no app – paste it into the web demo and copy the link for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music or one of the other services.

Why these links are trickier than Spotify links

With Spotify you mostly see one kind of URL. Tidal, Deezer and Amazon Music each use several formats, and not every tool recognises all of them. The link someone sends you in a chat often isn't the "real" address of the song, but a short link or a regional variant:

ServiceLink forms you'll seeWhat to watch out for
Tidaltidal.com/browse/track/…, tidal.com/track/…, listen.tidal.com/…Same track, different paths depending on whether it was shared from the app or the web player.
Deezerdeezer.com/…/track/…, short links deezer.page.link/… and link.deezer.com/…Short links contain no track ID – they first have to be followed to the real Deezer page.
Amazon Musicmusic.amazon.com, music.amazon.de, music.amazon.co.uk, music.amazon.co.jp and other country domainsEach country has its own domain. A song link often points to the album, with the track in a parameter.

SongFlip recognises all of these forms. It follows Deezer short links, reads the song or album behind the link and looks up the same release in the service you have chosen as your player.

Android: open them in your player with 0 taps

  1. Install SongFlip from Google Play and choose your player – for example Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music.
  2. Open Settings → Apps → SongFlip → Open by default and tap Add links.
  3. Tick the Tidal and Deezer domains, including deezer.page.link and link.deezer.com. For Amazon Music, tick at least your own country's domain – and any others that friends abroad send you.
  4. Tap a Tidal, Deezer or Amazon Music link anywhere – your player opens the matching song.

Domain greyed out? If the Tidal, Deezer or Amazon Music app is installed, it owns its links and Android won't hand them to a second app. Either remove that app or switch off Open supported links in its app settings. More on this: fixing “Open by default” on Android.

iPhone: 1 tap via the share menu

On iOS, links from these services open in their app or in Safari – iOS doesn't allow another app to take them over silently. So you send the link to SongFlip yourself:

  1. Install SongFlip (currently via TestFlight) and choose your player.
  2. Long-press the Tidal, Deezer or Amazon Music link and tap Share.
  3. Select SongFlip – your player opens with the song.

Alternatively copy the link and start the SongFlip shortcut with the Action Button or Siri; it converts the link from the clipboard.

Sharing in the other direction

If you use Tidal or Deezer yourself and your friends don't, the problem is reversed: your link is useless to them. Paste it into the web demo to get links for every service, or – with SongFlip PRO – share a smart link (songflip.link/s/…) where each recipient picks their own service and can hear a 30-second preview in the browser.

Typical problems

  • Song not available in the target service: exclusive releases or regional licensing mean some tracks exist on Tidal or Amazon Music but not elsewhere. No converter can open what isn't there.
  • Album opens instead of the song: this happens when only an album link was shared. Ask for the track link, or pick the song from the album.
  • Different edition: deluxe, remastered or explicit/clean versions can differ between catalogues. Background and tips: avoiding the wrong song version.
  • Sound quality: SongFlip only opens the song. Whether you hear it lossless depends on your player and your subscription there, not on the original link.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Paste the Deezer link – including short links like deezer.page.link – into the web demo and copy the link you need. In the app the conversion happens automatically when you tap (Android) or share (iPhone) the link.

It recognises the common regional domains such as music.amazon.com, .de, .co.uk, .fr, .it, .es, .co.jp, .ca, .com.au, .com.br, .com.mx and .in. On Android, tick every domain you want SongFlip to handle.

Yes. All six services – Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, Deezer and Amazon Music – work both as source and as destination. Spotify links can just as well open in Tidal.

Not for the conversion. SongFlip uses only the public information behind the link and needs no login. To play the song you of course need access to your own service.
