These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the website located at songflip.link (including the web converter) and the mobile applications “SongFlip” for Android and Apple iOS. By accessing the website or using the apps, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Scope of Service & Functionality
SongFlip is a utility application for Android, Apple iOS, and the web (songflip.link) designed to intercept and convert shared music hyperlinks from various streaming services and automatically open the corresponding track, album, or artist profile in your chosen target music player.
SongFlip does not host, store, stream, transmit, or reproduce any music files, audio streams, or copyrighted media. The app operates purely as a technical routing and resolution tool for publicly accessible web hyperlinks.
2. Third-Party Content, APIs & No Warranty of Accuracy
Matching and resolution across different platforms are performed via automated queries to publicly available endpoints and APIs (such as Odesli / Songlink, Apple iTunes Search & Lookup, Deezer, Spotify OEmbed, YouTube OEmbed, as well as link recognition for SoundCloud, Bandcamp, and Shazam).
- No Guarantee of Accuracy & Match Quality: Track resolution, metadata matching, and playlist transfers are based on automated heuristics and third-party catalog databases. We make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or ongoing correctness of search results or redirection targets. There is no entitlement or guarantee that a track exists, is licensed, or can be matched identically in the target streaming catalog (e.g. due to regional licensing restrictions, alternate spellings, remix versions, or incomplete third-party metadata).
- Third-Party Rights & Streaming Licenses: Legality of music content, streaming rights, and catalog licensing on target platforms are solely the responsibility of the respective streaming providers and rights holders.
- API Availability & Interface Modifications: Should third-party providers restrict, modify, rate-limit, or deprecate their interfaces, automatic redirection capabilities may be temporarily or permanently affected. No claims against SongFlip may be derived from such circumstances.
3. Trademark Disclaimer, Independence & Non-Affiliation
SongFlip is an independent open-source project created by Daniel Notthoff. There is no business affiliation, partnership, sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliate relationship between SongFlip and any of the following entities or platforms:
- Spotify (Spotify AB / Spotify Technology S.A.)
- Apple Music & Apple Podcasts (Apple Inc.)
- YouTube / YouTube Music (Google LLC / Alphabet Inc.)
- Pocket Casts (Automattic Inc. / ShiftyJelly Pty Ltd)
- TIDAL (TIDAL Music AS / Block, Inc.)
- Deezer (Deezer S.A.)
- Amazon Music (Amazon.com, Inc.)
- SoundCloud (SoundCloud Global Limited & Co. KG)
- Bandcamp (Bandcamp, Inc. / Songtradr, Inc.)
- Shazam (Apple Inc. / Shazam Entertainment Ltd.)
All trademarks, service marks, brand names, and logos displayed on this website and in the app are the property of their respective owners. Their reference is strictly nominative fair use to describe service compatibility and the intended functionality of link conversion.
4. Free Core Functionality & Open Source (GPLv3)
Core features of SongFlip (0-click redirection on Android, 1-click on iOS, custom source toggles, Quick Settings pause tile) are and will remain 100% free and ad-free forever.
The Android application source code is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3 (GPLv3) and is publicly available on GitHub for audit and community contribution.
5. Optional Pro Features, Store Billing & Clarification for PRO Users
For advanced power-user capabilities (such as 1:1 playlist sync & transfer, advanced fuzzy & ISRC matching, High-Speed Level-2 Cache, or universal share links), an optional SongFlip PRO license is available:
- Flexible Pricing Options & Web Links: SongFlip PRO is offered as an optional subscription (monthly/annual) or as a one-time lifetime license. Universal Smart Share Links (songflip.link/s/... & songflip.link/p/...) remain active for at least 90 days after their latest access, renewed on each visit. Core redirection features remain 100% free forever.
- Payment Processing & Contract Partner (Google Play & Apple App Store): The contracting party for the purchase of SongFlip PRO features is the respective store operator (Google Commerce Limited or Apple Inc.). All transactions, billing, and payment processing are handled exclusively via the in-app purchase systems of the respective platforms in accordance with their terms.
- Right of Withdrawal, Cancellations & Refunds: Statutory rights of withdrawal, cancellations, and refund claims are governed exclusively by the terms and policies of the respective store (Google Play Store / Apple App Store) and applicable statutory consumer protection regulations. Withdrawal or refund requests cannot be asserted directly against SongFlip.
- No Guarantee of Error-Free Matching or Constant Availability for PRO Users: Acquiring a SongFlip PRO license does not grant an entitlement to a 100% matching success rate, error-free playlist transfers, or uninterrupted service. Functionality depends on external streaming provider APIs. Changes, rate-limits, or discontinuations of third-party interfaces do not constitute a defect in the software and do not entitle the user to compensation or refunds beyond store policies.
6. Technical Availability, Server Outages & Limitation of Liability
Web services (songflip.link, web converter, resolver API, L2 cache) are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of uninterrupted operation. We assume no liability for temporary server outages, maintenance downtime, hosting provider failures (Contabo, Firebase, Cloudflare), or network disruptions.
We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence, and damages resulting from injury to life, body, or health. In the event of a slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual duty (cardinal duty), our liability is limited to typical and foreseeable damages. In all other respects, liability is excluded to the extent permitted by applicable law.
7. Governing Law, Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
To the extent permitted by law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with this agreement shall be the domicile of the operator (Wetter, Germany), provided that the user is a merchant within the meaning of the German Commercial Code (HGB), a legal entity under public law, or a special fund under public law. For consumers, the statutory place of jurisdiction applies.
Consumer Dispute Resolution: We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).
